SCRUBS

Thursday 11.30pm, Channel Seven

In this season return, its seventh, Scrubs continues to do that thing it does so well. Flit effortlessly from the poignant to the farcical and back again. Then back. And so on. Yet, no matter how quick those flits or how erratic the progress, the farcical moments are always very funny, and the poignant moments genuinely sweet. It's wackily postmodern, proudly unPC, enormously silly. But, all these years down the track, the combination of unpredictable whimsy, Zach Braff's sweet face, and a determination to take its characters seriously no matter how absurd they are means Scrubs continues to deliver a whole lot of pleasure. Tonight, Turk and Perry develop a massive man-crush on one of their patients.
